Take Away Containers
Clear plastic take-away containers are
usually made of a type of plastic known as PET (polyethylene terephthalate),
marked with a number 1 inside a triangle.
These plastics can be recycled in most areas through household kerbside
recycling bins. Check with your local council if you are unsure.
Some plastic take-away containers are made from styrofoam, or polystyrene
foam. These containers are very rarely accepted in kerbside recycling bins
- click

on polystyrene foam.
Will SITA Environmental Solutions accept my take-away containers?
Clear plastic take-away containers can be dropped off free of charge. Please
note that containers made of polystyrene foam, or styrofoam, are not accepted
for recycling, and will be charged as mixed waste.
