Bottle Tops

Due to current sorting technology used in Materials Recycling Facilities, at the moment only steel and aluminium bottle tops can be recycled. Technology is always improving, however, and we may be able to sort plastic bottle tops more efficiently in the future.

The steel and aluminium from bottle tops can be turned into street signs, car parts and new bottle tops.

Will WSN Environmental Solutions accept my bottle tops?

Steel, aluminium and other metals can be dropped off free of charge at WSN Resource Recovery Centres. Steel or aluminium bottle tops should be placed inside cans made of similar material.

What else can I do with my bottle tops?

Most councils will accept steel and aluminium bottle tops in kerbside recycling bins. Bottle tops should be washed to remove any food residue, and placed inside cans, before placing the can in the appropriate recycling bin.

Dispose of plastic bottle tops with your usual household waste.
