WSN Environmental Solutions’ Lucas Heights Waste & Recycling Centre is currently attended by police who are searching waste as part of an investigation. Due to police requirements, WSN is not able to cover waste at this time, leading to an increase in odour generation that has affected some local residents.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to households in the vicinity”, Ken Kanofski, CEO for WSN Environmental Solutions, explained, “and we are working to minimise the impact by means of odour suppressant measures on the site.”

The police search is expected to last another 2 to 3 days. “We thank the local residents for their understanding and we greatly appreciate their patience while the police work continues,” said Mr Kanofski.

WSN will continue to monitoring odour closely over coming days to ensure prompt return to normal levels and the site remains open to the public.
