Sustainability Reporting
We demonstrate our commitment to the principles of ecologically sustainable development (ESD) by reporting publicly on environmental, social and economic indicators. These indicators provide an open and transparent picture of our performance on an annual basis.

These sustainability indicators were first incorporated into our 2004/05 Annual Report and independently verified using the AA1000 assurance standard. The report is the first of its kind in the Australian waste industry.

Sustainability Reference Group
WSN has established a Sustainability Reference Group (SRG) to provide us with external, expert perspectives on sustainability, in particular our corporate social responsibility and community engagement initiatives. The role of the SRG is to provide independent advice to help WSN identify, reach and maintain best practice standards in sustainability as related to our business operations. More information about the role of the SRG is contained in the Terms of Reference and Operating Protocol (PDF, 35kB).

Membership of the SRG is comprised of representatives from state government, local government and non-government organisations. The group meets quarterly, and meeting minutes will be posted here once they have been adopted by the group.
