Mobile phones and their batteries cannot be recycled through the kerbside collection system. They should not be placed in the general rubbish bin either, as they contain materials such as nickel, cadmium and cobalt. These materials can be hazardous to the environment if disposed of in a landfill.

Will SITA Environmental Solutions accept my mobile phones and batteries?

What else can I do with my mobile phones and batteries?

Mobile phones and their batteries can be returned to certain retail outlets for recycling. Visit Mobile Muster or call 1300 730 070 from within Australia to find out where to drop off your old phones.
